Going public

Okay, so recently I have decided to let the people from all over the internet to read my writings. Well, you know, my poems and stories. I've published them on FictionPress.com.

I don't know what I was thinking! Do you know how nerve-wracking it is every time I check on my stories' traffic stats?? If it's low, I'll feel down. If it's high, I'll feel anxious about what the readers think of my stories. Boring? Bad? Entertaining? Or worse, a Twilight material. It's even more so when I get quite an amount of hits on my stories but I get NO RESPONSE or comments from the readers! Does this mean they got bored with my stories and moved on to other writers?

Gah! I wish I could know what the readers are thinking.

New designs

I LOVE military-inspired fashion: military jackets, combat boots, gold/bronze buttons, accessories, etc. I was suddenly overwhelmed by the urge to draw and design, and the brown cropped jacket had been in my mind for a few days. I'm not drawing the back/side view, since I'm really gonna make them into real clothes (I wish I can, but unfortunately, I can't even make an ordinary T-shirt).

The dress, believe it or not, I wasn't really paying attention when I drew it. I was drawing for the sake of drawing. But it turned out great. It's my fave out of the four.

The one with pink blouse >> not exactly how I imagined it. I had wanted it to have more "attitude". I was my fave when I hadn't coloured it. Now it's my least fave after colouring.

And the last one, hmm....I was inspired by a girl I saw when I was waiting for the tram. She was clad in black: black tee, black boots, black pants, and yes, long black leather gloves. And she was walking with a black umbrella. An idea struck me >> a design that has a mix of military and 19th century fashion. And the umbrella turned into a gentleman walking stick.

I have another two designs on the way (still haven't coloured them) for men. I have to say, I'm really liking these designs (which is incredible to me because I usually don't like my designs much after finishing the sketch).

P.S. I know I have ridiculous hair here. LOL

Broken Arrow (Pixie Lott) - THE perfect song

I've just finished reading Beastly by Alex Flinn, seeing that how everyone commented (on the trailer on youtube) that the book is far better than the movie. The book was entertaining, but I don't exactly find it to be that awesome like some people said it is. Maybe it's because I'm beginning to grow out of YA novels.

NEway, after reading the book, I decided to watch the trailer again (to decide whether or not I'd check out the movie). And then, I just have a sudden love for the trailer's song -- Pixie Lott's Broken Arrow. (Yes, dumb me for not loving it the first time I saw the trailer).

As I was singing along (in my heart, of course) with the lyrics printed on my laptop's screen, I made a silent squeal. The lyrics...it's as if...it's written specially for the heroine in my new novel (title yet to be fixed)!! I don't think anyone would understand my excitement, though. Let's just say that I find my inspirations (mostly) from songs, and having a song that depicts EXACTLY the character in my novel, it helps me to focus (I always tend to "forget" about the character's personality/feelings). I've always been on the look out for songs like this. There were some that depicts 60-70% of my characters/story, but never 100%.

With this song, it's 100%. It's P-E-R-F-E-C-T.

The lines that best depict my heroine's feelings are these:

What do you do when your heart's in two places?
You feel great but you're torn inside.
You feel love but you just can't embrace it,
When you found the right one at the wrong time.

So, this should give you a hint on what's going on (generally) in my new novel. Have only finished 4 chapters so far. 4 short chapters. Another hint >> the story takes place after the events in Blood Moon (hopefully someone has been reading it *fingers crossed*), so you can say it's sort of like a sequel. Sort of.

Here's the official MV to Pixie Lott's song:

An owl in the making...

Nothing to post about lately. Well, not lately. It's been like this for a few months. Sorry for not updating more often guys.

An owl in the making...how? I'll tell you how - by sleeping at 6/7 am every day and wake up at 4pm.

Yes, that's what I'm doing. I simply don't know how to get back to being a normal HEALTHY human being =.=

Now I just feel like a zombie - moving and alive, but the mind is dead. Guess a human isn't supposed to become an owl.

Anyhow, that's all folks! See ya next time.

Love from Kay Al.
