Shouoto Aya: Newcomer for the Reverse Harem Genre

Hmm...her art is really good. And I mean REALLY good. I like the guys she draws. No wait...I love them XD

I was too bored at home with nothing to do, and I'm also waiting for the next chapters of Skip Beat and Vampire Knight, I just browsed through the mangas under that genre. And, unexpectedly, I came across a manga called Barajou no Kisu by Shouoto Aya. At first I was just giving it a try because of the boys *wink* but the plot turns out to be quite interesting. There is also another similar manga by the same mangaka called S.L.H: Stray Love Hearts. Strange name, I know. But that's how they are, I mean the Japanese. Sometimes even their songs have really illogical names. S.L.H is published much earlier than Barajou but the latter got more popular first *shrugs*.

She was originally focusing on shonen-ai and yaoi, then later yuri, and now reverse harem and shoujo. The only thing that bothers me about her style is her female characters, especially the heroines. GOD! They are tooo chibi and short compared to the tall and long male characters. When they stand together, it feels like an adult and a middle schooler.

Barajou no Kisu

Higa Kaede. At first, my only favourite was him. I thought he looked cute, and I still think he does. (Look at this picture!) But after this guy (point down) came around, I have two favorites now. Kaede had become my second favourite.

Mutsuki Kurama. *Sigh* Isn't he just awesome??? I wish I can draw like that T^T. At the first sight, I just thought he was not appealing enought, but I was so wrong. His personality is cute and to top it all off, he's a night stalker! A vampire! Well, sort of... XD And who would have guessed inside his cold and scary exterior that deep down, he's a masochist?! The very moment he showed that side of him, I've fallen head over heels for him *blush* *heartbeat racing* Lolx... I sounded like some kind of psycho that would fall in love with a fictional, imaginary guy instead of one in flesh and blood. How frustrating. Characters like this often made me want a guy that is like him, which is impossible. He would be too good for me T.T

Stray Love Hearts

Aww~ Come on! Basically all the boys in the manga are bishounen! Is it possible that all the guys could be so beautiful?? Well, not in reality anyway. No offense but usually nice guys not = good looking; good looking not = nice guys. So...ya. If I have to choose, seriously, I would prefer a nice guy.

I have three favourites for this manga. Ichikawa Ren (the one with short brown hair, reason for liking him: need I to say more? He's a Higa Kaede look-alike! Or is it the other way around? XD), Reizei Kuga (the one with long black hair, reason for liking: Mutsuki Kurama and Kaname look-alike LOLX), and lastly, Kumoide Cain *points down*.

Cain and Kozue Hiyoki (she does look like a hiyoko to me XD). See what I mean? Cain looks like a college freshman and she (the heroine) looks like a middle schooler. No, worst. She looks like she is still in elementary school! But anyway, the reason for liking him is because a) again, a Kurama look-alike b) he gives out the Zero-aura, if you know what I mean.

In the sense of the amount of bishies, SLH is the winner but for the plot, I like Barajou better. The plot seems to be more mysterious and interesting. But it is still too early for me to decide since only six chapters of Barajou are translated and only one chapter for SLH. I'll have to wait a little longer. All in all, Shouoto Aya has made it into my list of favourite mangakas ;D

Drawings for Blood Moon

Woohoo~ Haven't been blogging for awhile now. I have nothing better to at home but just sit or lie around, sleep for 12+ hours a day XD I did not do much during this one whole month of holiday. Sleep at 7/8 in the morning till 5 in the afternoon almost everyday. I used to be a "lark" (well, because of school, not because I wanted to) but now I have turned into a complete "owl". Today I've finally picked up my pencil and paper to draw (even though I said to myself I MUST draw everyday during this holiday) thanks to SuJu. Why? Because I have fallen in love with their song "Neorago (It's You)". After watching their music video, I was DYING to draw their outfits. Their outfits went well with their dance moves, which are absolutely charming and enchanting. I was not a SuJu fan but, GOD! Now I'm starting to like them more and more. They made me wished I could have a boyfriend that can dance like them (especially Eunhyuk. ZOMG! At first I thought he wasn't that good looking compared to GD *squeal* but then, after seeing him dance, HE IS SOOOO CHARMING!!) LOLX~

Okay, enough of the cool-guy fetish. The reason I'm writing this post is to post my drawing for my precious Blood Moon boys XD The first one is the unfinished version and the second one is, well, the finished version. Arggh~ The damn useless scanner! It made the colour came out weird. Totally ruined it!! It looked so good on the paper!! *pulling hair off my head* I want a new scanner!!!

From left: Damien Quinn, Jack Kennington, Leroy d'Evreux

Seriously, their skintone became so dark!!! It was supposed to be pale for Jack and Leroy! And Jack's hair was supposed to be seal brown, sort of a dark brown but it came out looking like black! But I am really satisfied with this design. I will be settling my character design on this one. Not going to change it again, I think. XD

P.S.: I know it's weird for a French to have black hair, BUT it really fits his character.
