Xmas Eve & Xmas

I started my Xmas Eve with sleeping for only 3 hours. It was my own fault actually. I slept at 7 in the morning and had to wake up on 10 AM for medical examination for my student visa. I promised my friends to arrive at Red Box @ The Gardens by 11.30 AM but I ended up arriving an hour later. I am so sorry. The medical examination was delayed for a little. So I only got to sing for 2 & 1/2 hours while the boys - Jeff, Choon How, Brian (the birthday boy. Yes, his birthday is on Xmas Eve) got to sing for 3 hours. Well, I wasn't the only one who's late. Chin Yee was late, too. So we went in together. I was practically running (walking REALLY fast) from Mid Valley carpark all the way to Red Box. I was totally out of breath when I finally reached the karaoke room where the boys were in. LOL~

And then, after singing for awhile, we brought in a Black Forest as a surprise for the birthday boy! We sang him the birthday song and I playfully sang that in Korean (Saengil chukha hamnida, saengil chukha hamnida~). Haha. It was fun even though Choon How and I sang until we actually lost our voice!! I talked like a man (a deep, husky voice) after that. XD

After that, we watched Sherlock Holmes. It was nice. Funny, too! Love Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. They made a great pair! XD Before we went home at 9 PM, we had dinner at Pasta Zanmai and I got to eat my favourite dish (fried soft shell crab) and try out yasai miso soup. I got to buy a tube of Gummy Choco and ate omochi ice cream from Shojikiya, too, which is right next to Pasta Zanmai.

What made me laughed out loud was that Choon How tried to give me a piggyback when I couldn't see a performance at Mid Valley (the crowd was full of men. Why? Because the performers were girls in short-skirt costumes).

All in all, it was a fun Xmas Eve.

On Xmas, I went to Daidomon in the Great Eastern Mall for japanese buffet with my parents and my cousin and aunt. The food was okay. Not great, though. But the price was affordable and that's the most important thing. LOL~

Anyways, merry christmas and happy new year to everyone!!

Hachikou: The Loyal Man's Best Friend

As I was writing this, my eyes were still redden and swollen from crying, my nose were still running and it was hard to breathe. I can't quite remember the last time I was crying so hard that my voice became shaky, my throat tightened until it was difficult for me to breathe and tears just wouldn't stop flowing out from my eyes even if I wanted to. I think I had stopped crying like that after I went to high school.

This would be the first time ever that I cried in such a way over a story I read from Wikipedia and a movie trailer. I haven't even seen the movie yet. A film, Hachiko: A Dog's Story (starring Richard Gere), was released in 2009. It wasn't released in Malaysia, though. It's a pity because I really wanna see it. But I saw the trailer when I was simply changing the channels on the TV. I stopped when I knew that the movie is about a dog (I always enjoy shows and films that involve dogs). The trailer didn't even last for 3 minutes and I was already so touched by it and tears started flowing out of my eyes. But it was just like any other normal reaction after seeing a touching scene in a movie --- just a few drops of tears.

However, I got so curious about the star of the film, the dog, I went and read the story of Hachikou. It was a real life story. Hachikou was a pet and best friend of a professor (Ueno Hidesaburou) back in 1920s. He was one of the members of the beautiful breed, Akita Inu. He had stayed with the professor since the day he took him in, even after the death of the professor. In the morning, he would see his owner off at the front door and wait for him to come home at the Shibuya Station in the evening. This routine continued everyday until May 1925, when the professor never come back and see Hachikou at the station like he usually did. But Hachikou kept waiting, even after he was sent off to another owner. He would escaped routinely to his old home, the professor's house, and wait at the front door. Eventually, he knew the professor would not come home and so he went to the station to wait every evening. He would show up exactly the time when the train arrives. The professor never appeared, not because he abandoned Hachikou, but because he suffered a stroke and died before he could go home to Hachikou on that faithful day.

Hachikou kept going to the station and the frequent commuters at the station would feed him as they know he was waiting for his owner who would never come back again. The routine continued for 10 years until he finally died in 1935. He was found on the street on the way to the Shibuya Station.

I was crying the entire time when I read the article on Wikipedia. I've never cried over a story or an article as hard as this time before. The fact that touches me the most is that Hachikou died with his owner still in his mind and he was still waiting for the professor to come home. Words simply cannot describe the feeling I'm having now. It's really such a shame that some people never appreciated the loyalty and faithfulness of the man's best friends, by actually abandoning them on the street or abusing them.

The story of Hachikou just made me love dogs even more than I already do.

Brown Eyed Girls - Sign MV and Morse code ???

I fell in love with the beat of the song =] It's so catchy and addictive, especially the "dot-dot-dot-dot" part. The "dots" are merely punctuations to express the frustration and desperation of the singers who couldn't get the man they love to understand their feelings. However, some people started the Morse-code-theory. 2 long dots and 3 short dots represent "7" in Morse code but I don't know if that number really do mean "help". I've searched everywhere but there is not even one source that suggests 7 = Help. Or may be I'm just not resourceful enough XD

But the song does make use of a well-known distress signal --- Mayday. No, it does not mean the 1st of May or Labour Day or whatever in this case. It means "HELP". I read some of the comments when I was looking for this video, and I just can't take those people that kept on giving wrong information regarding the "mayday" and the "dot-dot-dot-dot" thinking they know everything. But it's not like I can fully understand the music video, though. I mean, the main guy was fighting the minions of the "Devil in suit" (LOL that's what I named him) at the beginning, which were controlled by the devil. And then, the Devil just started killing off his own minions and even gave a weapon to the main guy to kill himself??!! And then, there's the blind-in-one-eye thing. What's the point of putting it in the story? LOL and it somehow reminds me of Syaoran from Tsubasa Chronicles.

Anyhow, I still like this song very much. ;]

New work...again

This is ME! Haha...People who are close to me will be thinking "Doesn't look like you at all!" I really can't draw my big flat nose (the part least similar to my actual facial features ><). I hate my nose~ XP And I'm wearing my signiture shirt (in the picture) --- Supergirl!!! *laughs at my own silliness*

I drew this a couple of hours before my 19th birthday on 5th of December. Sort of like a memory for the last few hours of being 18. Lol~ I know, I know...I'm making a big deal out of this. But I really do have the damn Peter Pan Syndrome --- I hate growing up. XD But...Oh, well. What can I do about that? I just need some time to get rid of that illness.

I meant to make this the cover of the first chapter of Blood Moon, but then I realised it's more suitable to be the cover for another chapter and since I haven't introduce Jack in the first chapter. I'm going to add the novel's title later (after I finished designing the title, that is). It didn't quite turned out the way I want and I still think it lacks something ><

2012 is good~

OK...I meant the movie, not the end of the world. Just watched it yesterday (an hour after watching A Christmas Carol XD). To be honest, I AM a little nervous about the whole end-of-the-world thing. 12/12/2012 -- it's exactly a week after my 22nd birthday. I didn't imagine the apocalypse to be like how it's portrayed in 2012 the movie. I imagined it to be, like, the whole planet just vanished, gone, just like the other unknown stars in the universe. It will become dust and the dust will give birth to another new star. Lol~ Astronomy was my favourite chapter in my general science textbook back in high school.

The movie is good! As expected from the director of The Day After Tomorrow (it's one of my favourites). There were quite a number of scenes that I almost (ALMOST) cried. Haha~ I'm not exactly the type to cry out loud on movies. The scene on an estrange father calling his son right before his son and his family were killed really did touch my heart, even though they didn't get to talk over the phone at all. And there's one particular scene that made me and the other audiences in the cinema to REALLY laughed out loud -- the car scene. "Engine, start," said the damn-f**king-selfish-rich-Russian calmly to the car when Jackson (John Cusack) couldn't start the engine and everyone in the car were screaming and shouting in panic. My god! I really didn't expect such a funny scene at the midst of a matter-of-life-and-death scene. Whoever put that line in is a GENIUS.

There's a scene that shows Dr Helmsley complaining about how wide the rooms on the ships are that they could fit at least 10 people in each. It really does show how spoiled the rich people are. Prioritising their comfort and high class living instead of the lives of their fellow, poorer humans. Seriously, their money worth nothing more than a piece of paper in that kind of situation. "The moment we stop fighting for each other, that's the moment we lose our humanity."

The way the Russian millionaire's girlfriend (Tamara, I think), Sasha, Gordon and the US President die, Emmerich successfully brought out the feeling and the impact of their deaths, IMO.

I think the movie shows how Roland Emmerich imagined the end of the world to be, obviously. It's sort of like Noah's Ark, except there were 3-4 arks (or ships) instead of just one XD, and they're made in China. Haha... I give it a full 10 stars.

Big Bang - Koe wo Kikasete (Let Me Hear Your Voice)

Oooooh~ I LOVE this song so much!!! It's so darn addictive. I have to listen to it at least 10 times a day! Lol~ Big Bang ROCKZZ~

It is the opening theme of a new J-Drama called "Ohitorisama". It's making me wanting to watch the series =]

Here's the video, romanised and translated lyrics.

Translated:

The rain just now has stopped
The smell of asphalt is floating around the city
Hey, over there too, the weather is fine already right?
For the weather has cleared up from the west
Since you’re not a morning person
Everyday, will you be able to wake up properly?
I’m still worried about things like that

The spreading sky, the freedom
Although neither of them has changed
Right now, just that… it’s only just that you are not by my side

Let me hear your voice
If we become honest, surely
We’ll be able to understand each other
Please open your heart

Let me hear your voice
The path we have come is, for us, definitely
An important STEP to that future

The first time I met you was
Around this season right?
The light up street was
Glowing beautifully
The crybaby-you, from that time on, often
Laid your forehead on my shoulder
You were crying right?
That extreme warmth
From your touch on my shoulder

Everyone lives, carrying his own worry
Desperately holding his broken heart

Let me hear you voice
If we become more kind
We’ll be able to love each other
Don’t avert my eyes

Let me hear your voice
Let’s get over those entwined anxieties and loneliness
The feelings of this moment become our bond

Yeah, since you went away hasn’t been the same
In my heart all I got is pain
Could it be that I played a game to lose you, I can’t maintain
Sunlight moonlight you lit my life realize in the night
While love shines bright
Can't let you go we’re meant forever baby, let me know

This past without you, can’t forget you
Letting me be the cloud hanging above me
Raining on me missing you touch
Nights get long and it’s hard to clutch
We’re apart breaks my heart
It's all for the best girl, you’re my world
In time my love unfurls

Let me hear your voice
If we become honest, surely
We’ll be able to understand each other
Please open your heart

Let me hear your voice

An important STEP to that future

My fave part is GD's part! I love him so much XD TOP's voice is cool, too!! Too bad they didn't sing much in the song =(

Sem 2 Exams are OVER!!

Well, after the exam, I went shopping with my Mom in Sunway Pyramid. I bought 4 new outfits!!! And believe it or not, 1 of them is milky white with laces (I love laces ;D) and the other three are all BLACK!! LOL~ As if I don't have enough of black clothes in my wardrobe =.=" My Mom was like "Black again??"

I planned to watch 2012 today, too, but the ticket counters were packed with herds of people! XD I didn't feel like queing up so I decided to watch it later.

After the last paper, yes, I'm free. But you know what? I felt relaxed...and empty. Not excited but numb. I'd been lying on the sofa, staring at the ceiling the entire time after I came home from shopping. There was nothing to watch on TV, I don't feel like watching anime, reading manga, writing my novels, reading books or even drawing!! But I don't want to sit around and do nothing or sleep through the whole day either! I don't know what is wrong with me!! I really need to go out with my friends and chill out. If not, I'll die from all these frustration ><

And I've also been wondering...what did Siew Yin they all planned to do today?? Why are they being so secretive? Well, I couldn't find out since I couldn't join them in Mid Valley. They're making me really curious XD

New art work!!

Finished these in the last two days~

They're Eun Hye and Bride of Phantasos, respectively. Both with different style and sensation, imo. But my personal fave is the Bride. Love how it turned out to be with a "fantasy" feeling, the way I wanted it to be. For Eun Hye, though, it didn't quite turn out the way I wanted it to, especially the background.

A little note about the Bride: Phantasos is a Greek god who brings fantasy dreams to people. I've developed a huge interest on Ancient Greek and Roman mythologies XD

I combined this bit of interesting information I read on Wikipedia, which was the inspiration for this art piece, with an 18th-century-inspired avant-garde dress. I know, it doesn't make sense XD

Anyways, hope you'll like them =]

Dream came true...sort of

On Sunday during my violin lesson with my talented violin teacher (and he plays the piano, too ;D), I was sort of panicking because there's this damn song that I couldn't play smoothly no matter how many times I practiced. I felt kinda upset when I messed it up again in front of him. Though, it was only one of the three songs which I practiced for the last 2 weeks, and I could play the other two smoothly. One of these two was a short version of Pachelbel's Canon in D. I've always love this piece since I watched korean's "My Sassy Girl". I didn't have to put much effort into practicing because the rhythm and the beat are stuck in my head for a long time already XD and it isn't a difficult piece.

And then, out of the blue, my teacher started playing the song on the piano. He didn't really say anything but I knew very well what he wanted --- a duo!!!!!

I was, like, totally stupefied but really excited at the same time that I almost screamed of happiness. Lol~ I've always wanted to play a piece with someone, a duo, quartet or whatever, as long as I get to feel the kind of beauty from the harmony of a few intruments playing together.

So, I played the violin and he played the piano. Even though it's not perfect, it felt amazing!! It makes me feel all the more unhappy about dropping violin lessons if I'm going to study abroad next year T.T And I was so glad that I have met this teacher. He's nice and doesn't have trouble to make me feel relax during the lessons (well, maybe it's because he's only a few years older).

And my dream really do came true!!!! Without me having the slightest idea that it ever would. I thought I could only make it happen if I join some kind of orchestra. I'm really on cloud nine now, for two whole days (so far). Gah~ It makes me wanna keep playing the violin and drop the damn accounting notes for the exam on Thursday ><

Romeo + Juliet; and an unforgettable memory

Even though I said I won't be updating again for this month just two days ago, here I am writing another post XD

I bought a Japanese movie today. It's called "Romeo+Juliet". Some plot points are similar to that of the classical Shakespeare's tale of the tragic star-crossed lovers, Romeo & Juliet, but the former is very different from the latter. The way the two lovers met in the movie reminded me of someone.

He was not my first love, nor was he the guy I like right at this moment. But somehow, I'm sure that I won't be able to forget him for the rest of my life.

He was one of those naughty kids during kindergarten. I wasn't really friends with him at that time and we didn't really talk but I'd always remembered him for a prank he pulled on me. It wasn't a serious one but that memory is still very much vividly clear in my mind. Right after I graduated from that kindergarten, I met him. At the McD near my house. That time, that McD had a small playground set up for children at that age. I was playing on a slide and he was right in front of me. I didn't recognise him because of his face, but because of a mark on his neck. And again, he was kind of rude to me. That was the reason his face had made a deep mark on my memory.

After almost six years, I had practically forgot about this rude boy, until one day. My neighbour and my best friend at that time, Amanda, mentioned a guy friend of hers. The name she told me of was the same as the name of that boy I knew. At first, I thought it was just a mere coincident, so I didn't read too much into it. During a school holiday, my cousin took me to Genting Highland along with his girlfriend and her best friend (let's just call her Jenny). Jenny and us arrived separately. When we gathered, there was another person with Jenny. He was jumping around, talking casually with my cousin like they'd known each other for a long time. When they introduced us to one another, I knew it was him. Not just because of his name and face, but also the way he talked. The same rude little boy.
Because we were of the same age, I played everything in the theme park with him. He dragged me here and there, and I followed him around quietly because I didn't know that place well like he did. But after awhile, I noticed he had changed since kindergarten. He wasn't rude, he was just acting friendly. At the end of the day, I found out that he was the exact same boy that my best friend mentioned. But there was one thing I wasn't sure of, even until this day. Did he recognise me at that time? The way he looked at me when we first saw each other told me he didn't recognise me, which made me felt a little disappointed. But the way he talked to me and teased me told me a different answer.

About a year later, I was already in Form 1 with Amanda. The boy whom I thought I would not meet again appeared before me, in my school's uniform. He was in the same class as Amanda. When she introduced us to each other, his voice didn't show it but his eyes and his smile told me he recognised me, even for a little. I couldn't help but feel a tiny hint of happiness. However, I didn't see much of him at school. Only a couple of times where he teased me.

During my second year of high school, I had a crush on my first love. We didn't date until a year later. But during this year, something happened between me and that boy. I was ice-skating with my classmate in Sunway Pyramid, and to my surprise, he was there, too. The moment we saw each other, there was a strange feeling. It's like the "spark" that happens in all the love stories. We skated separately, each with our own friends. But he would often try to find opportunity to skate beside me and chat with me. Before we left the rink, he asked me out. I was too happy to reject him. Unfortunately, he forgot to ask for my number and I forgot to give it to him. He tried to ask me out again a few days later at school but something came up and eventually, we didn't go on a date at all.

I thought I would be able to see him at school more often than before after the gap between us grew smaller. But somehow, I never heard from him again. Nor had I seen him at all at school. I didn't know what happen and I had no one to ask because at that time Amanda, the only common friend we had, had transferred.

Thinking back now, if I did go on a date with him at that time, my first love would not have been my first love. And it would not have been so hard to forget about him, because people say the seed of a love (or a crush) that had ended without a reason will always be in the heart. One won't be able to rid the heart of it until it is properly ended.

He may have forgotten about me. He may have never taken it seriously. But I've always had a feeling that I will be able to see him again.
(Phew~ I can actually write about a guy in such a way. It really surprised me.)

A one-shot update

I'm reallllyyy lazy to update these days. Was busy with assignments and tests and on top of that, final is coming up. I don't think I'll be updating for this month again. So, I'll post everything in one shot XD

Firstly, I really don't know what's up with my friend. She can be laughing and joking with you in this second, and the next second, she totally ignores you (I mean me). After observing for some time, I think I'm the only one being treated this way. Either it's because I didn't know her true nature before this OR she dislikes me. I don't know. She really does give out the impression that she hates me. For example, even if she saw me in the library or in the lecture hall, she could just walk passed me without even greeting or look at me; totally ignores me when I'm sitting next to her (and then acts like she's really busy by keeps on flipping her books and notes); treats me like I'm a scary and irritating virus when I asked her about assignments (as if she couldn't bear the thought of letting me do well in assignments).

Today, we were talking during the first lecture. And during the second lecture (continue straight after the first one), I was practically invisible. I asked her some questions, she looked at me with a "huh?" look and then started flipping her notes. I thought she was trying to find answers to my questions in her notes, but she had actually continued doing her own thing without even bother to give me an "I don't know".

And then, it's time for the last class of the day (a tutorial). We went there together half an hour early in total silence. After putting our things in the classroom, we went for the washroom. We were queing up and she was busy with her phone. Then, without even a word, she just left. Just like that. I was just staring after her and thought "What is wrong with her???". She came back a few minutes before the class started. She just kept flipping her books (in a really fast pace that I doubted she could even read a word) again. I hope I'm just being paranoid but, I noticed she only flips her books and notes (or buries her nose into them) when I'm there. Either she's trying to show off to me how much she has studied, or, which is the more possible explanation, she isn't fond of me. During that one hour tutorial, we still didn't talk. And when the class was over, *whoosh* off she went. Didn't even bother to look at me.

This wasn't the first time. I'm kinda upset with her attitude towards me. I was trying hard to be friend with her, but if she keeps these up, sorry... I think we can only stay as normal coursemates (I don't think this bothers her at all, though).

Okay, enough about her. Now it's turn to update about my favourite mangas. *Winks* Well...Tsubasa Chronicles had officially ended a couple of weeks ago. *Sobx* Now I have one less manga to follow. Though, I don't really get the ending. It's like the story isn't complete. And then, Stray Love Hearts. *Sigh* I know the translators have their own life and things to do but, I've been waiting for so long for the second chapter!!! I hope they can release it as soon as possible. Vampire Knight's newest chapter had nothing exciting. Just normal. Skip Beat, on the other hand, HAH!!!! Ren's reaction was priceless!! x] Haha. The king of the night was back for a moment.

And then, this month, I've been complimented quite often about things I wore. Lolx. A guy in the library saw my metallic purple nail polish (I painted it on my toes, not my fingers ;D) and told me the colour was very nice. And then there's the outfit I just bought. A few of my friends said it's cool *blush*. Some of my friends like my necklace that was worn with the outfit (a long necklace with an old-gold colour and some beads). I was also commented by the woman who was in charge of taking people's temperature when they go into the campus about my necklace (another long necklace with plastic "rubies" and shiny silver dragonflies). Haha...I was laughing to myself when the woman said she likes my plastic-ruby necklace because it was the next day after my friends complimented on my new outfit and the old-gold necklace. I was like, speechless. XD Erm...it's not exactly something to be proud of, is it?? Lolx *embarassed*

Last but not least, my new works.

In the first picture, I really like how Lilith Korbokova (the girl with dark long hair) and Damien's cigarette pose had turned out. And then the second and third picture, they were inspired by the Brown Eyed Girls' Abracadabra music video. It didn't turn out as I wanted it to be after colouring it =[ Oh well.

Brown Eyed Girls - Abracadabra

This girl band is nice!! I've heard some of their songs before but this is the song that really draws my attention. Their dance moves are so...addictive XD I wish that's what we do in my hip hop class. But...too bad my dance instructor is a man. I doubt he will EVER choreograph such moves.

Ga In (the one with short hair) and Narsha (the one with imbalanced bangs XD)...Ooooh, I absolutely love their hair!! I've always wanted to have Ga In's hair...but I think it won't fit me. The same goes for Narsha's hair T^T Miryo (the rapper) reminds me of TOP from Big Bang. Her attitude, her voice, the way she moves and rap...EVERYTHING! Even her looks look like him XD I think the Korean music industry is being hit by the "Lady Gaga's style" waves. Some girl bands have adopted Lady Gaga's style (e.g. obviously, 2NE1). An example from the boys are, of course, none other than my GD-oppa =D

Btw, this is the dance version of their music video. It's not the official music video, but it's on youtube. So if you want to see it...go check it out yourselves. (I'm practically forcing people to look up their mv LOLX)

Enjoy the song. (It's really addictive)

Black Couple (edited)

"playing" with photoshop again XP
brushes used: galactic brushes by axeraider70 and suddenly spring brushes by gvalkyrie (downloaded from Brusheezy)

*I hope I'm not doing some illegal things by using their brushes >< I don't know how it works*

I was trying to learn how to create glowing lights in photoshop elements. Gotten a little hang of it now but still have much more space for improvement. Gonna keep trying until I can call myself an expert at this XDD

For the "eyes" glowing effect, I coloured it on a new layer, then duplicate that layer TWICE (it helps to make the colour look sharper). For the 1st layer, I used Gaussian blur (radius around 2.0); 2nd layer, I put the opacity to around 60-70% and used Gaussian blur again (radius around 7.0); 3rd layer, repeated what I did on 2nd layer but I decreased the opacity and increased Gaussian blur radius. After finish editing, I merged the layers together and used colour dodge (with a lighter colour than the eyes). Blurred it a little with blur tool and it's done! Usually people just merge the layers and use colour dodge to add the lights but I like the effects of the method I used (and not to mention I didn't know I could used the former method XDD so I experimented and came up with this method, with help of course). For the "light ball" thingy on the girl's hand, I did the exact same thing, only that I used accented edges on it, too (brush strokes >> accented edges). I wasn't planning on using it at first. As I said before, I was playing around, experimenting. When I pressed "accented edges", the effect was really nice. That's why I decided to use it ;D

Stay...(Completed)

Tools used: Mechanical pencil, Copic multiliner 0.03, Pilot drawing pen, PaintTool SAI, Photoshop Elements 6.0

Wow, it took me sooo darn long to finish something simple like this (compared to other DA artists). 2 and a half days! The longest time I've ever spent on a drawing. Gosh...This is my first ever digital work. I just downloaded SAI 31-day trial (better use as much as I can) and was dying to try it out. I had fun experimenting with it and photoshop too.

I was kinda lazy to post it when I finished this on Monday (after posting it on 3 other websites XD)

Still can't be compared to the works of those amazing DA artists. So, I'm gonna work harder! I'm gonna improve my colouring skills! Haha...Fighting!!

FT Island - I Hope (바래)

This is my new favourite. I'm so addicted to it right now. The moment I heard it, I knew I'm gonna love it. XD I love Hongki's red hair (it makes him look fresh and even cuter! haha..it suits his skintone and face features well) and Jonghoon is sooo cool during his solo part! He made me wanna play the guitar too! Haha. And Jaejin *squeal*, Seunghyun *squeal* and Minhwan *squeal* are cute as always XD (LOLX I'm acting like an airhead fangirl) God, everything in this MV is cute. Look at the kids!!

Here's the video:

The lyrics are sad but the music and the band give out a happy feeling. Funny, huh? But I think the ending of the MV was kinda sad. He didn't even recognise the girl. T^T

Stay...

This is the lineart. I just downloaded SAI trial version, so I'm gonna try to colour it. (Hopefully I won't ruin it XD) They are my original characters from Twofold. (The novel is here >>> http://miharu388.blogspot.com/)

Guy: Ciel von Hohenstein (I like the name "Ciel" so much thanks to Kuroshitsuji XD)

Girl: Wilhelmina von Aschenberg (I like "Wilhelmina" because I like its short form "Minna" thanks to Bram Stoker's Dracula and the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen *peace*)

I really like how the girl had turned out, especially her hair and outfit. Her image had been in my head for quite some time so I had to draw it out XDD

Note: If I made any ridiculous mistakes with the names, please forgive me because I'm not used to creating German names. *peace*

Monash v the Chicken (2009)

Yesterday I had my business law lecture. It was at 3 pm and it was 2-hour long. As usual, I sat in the auditorium, waiting for my "always punctual" lecturer to come. 20 minutes later, she had finally arrived. ^^ And then, for the first half of the lecture, I was so sleepy (as usual) but I tried not to succumb to the temptation of the oh-so-comfy chair. I thought I was bound to fall asleep again but, suddenly, the lecturer mentioned something about food poisoning. She was trying to use an example to explain something to us.

The example was that one day, all the Monash students have food poisoning because of something they ate at the cafeteria. And the main cause was the eggs the cafeteria purchased from a supermarket. She asked, "Who should the university sue?" Well, a typical law student would have said the supermarket, right? But guess what my friend said...

While we were thinking who to sue and how to argue for the case, he just blurted out, "Sue the chicken." (With a really serious expression on his face)

Everyone (I mean me and my friends) could not stop laughing!!! And then we just turned the discussion into "how should we sue the chicken" instead of what the lecturer wanted us to do.
A girl friend beside me said, "How should we bring the chicken to the court?? Tie it up??"

And then, something came into my mind. "How do you translate what the chicken is saying?" and imagined how would the chicken look like if it is to wear a formal black suit. LOLX.

That really woke me up. I didn't fall asleep or even feel sleepy at all. I had been laughing throughout the next half of the lecture. Another girl friend was like, "Enough already la!" LOLX Sorry...I didn't mean to laugh that much XDD

SB Act 145 ---- OMGGGG!!!!

Ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod OH-MY-GOD!!! *fangirl squeal* Kyoko's first kiss!! AHHHH~ It was with Shou!! AHHHH!!!

*Ahem* Pardon me...

Just read Skip Beat chapter 145 in chinese. I can't believe it. I had never expected a kiss to happen in SB. Ever!! (Well, what do you expect?? It's not a normal, boring shoujo manga after all.) On top of that, it's not with Ren!!! It's suppose to be with RENNNN!! Even though I don't dislike KyokoXShou pairing, in fact I supported that pairing at the beginning, I have grown to LOOOVVEE KyokoXRen pairing. Poor Ren-sama >3<

But I doubt Shou is going to, like, TRULY confess his feelings to Kyoko in the next chapter. It would be waayyyyyy un-SkipBeat-like. Lolx~ My guess is that:
1) a WW III is going to happen between the two guys (duh! obviously)
2) Kyoko is going be dead shock to not even be able to punch Shou in the face XD
3) Shou is going to shake it off by saying "I'm just giving you an experience as to how a kiss feels like" or something along the line (you know how he is). He would NEVER do something like grab her in front of everyone and forcefully make her become his girlfriend (BOF much~). I really don't want that to happen. This will totally ruin the godly Skip Beat's reputation! (Too exaggerated XD) It will make SB follow the tracks of other typical, nothing-special shoujo. Unless Nakamura-sensei decides to surprise us SB fans yet again. This chapter nearly gave me a heart-attack. What's more, it is a very interesting and distracting cliff-hanger!!! As expected from sensei...*sigh*

Now I have to wait for a month for the next chapter. What am I gonna do before the next release??! Well, actually, I doubt that I'll have time to even THINK about it since I have assignments, tests and tutorial work, Every-Single-Damn week. T.T

Finally~

Woot~ Finally, man. Finally, I've finished it!! Haha. I know she had been waiting for a looooong time. (She = Pui Mun) XDD And it's been awhile since I last updated this blog.

Last semester (I even remembered we were in the library's computer room XD) she asked me to draw something for her. She wanted a couple doing "sweet" things (e.g. date. Don't over think it XD). I remembered she mentioned she likes guys in shirts (like those of working long-sleeves shirt) and girls that emit a 'cool' aura. That's why I decided to draw this couple. And thank god she likes it XP I've drawn for her once back in high school when I'd just started drawing. So, I think when she compares this one with the old one, there would be a HUGE difference, on the good side that is. Hehe.

I started drawing this, like, around 2 months ago, just before last sem's final. Back then I couldn't exactly decide on the background. A park was one of my options but then I'm not good with plants and nature so I just couldn't start drawing. But after I looked up on "how to draw trees" and some garden pictures, I kinda get the confidence to draw it out. And, surprisingly, it turned out better than I thought, even though it may seems a little crappy LOL

Since it turned out so well, I was unwilling to give it to her XD Only for a moment, though. I mean, what good is my talent if I can't show or share it with people?? So, even though still have thoughts of keeping it to myself, I'm gonna give it to her tomorrow as a surprise. Just hope that she won't read this post beforehand. *crosses fingers*

Here's the drawing~

The drawing at the first stage. A clean sketch without shadings and background (obviously).

The drawing after shadings and (partial) background are added.

And finally, the completed version of the drawing ;D With my signature at the bottom right of the drawing.

I've posted it on DeviantART and Mangabullet, too. I named it "Sweet Love" (because everyone who had commented said it's sweet and cute).

NB: Try listening to ballad love songs like T-Max's Fighting the Bad Feeling (Boys Before Flowers OST) when looking at it XDD It's just that the song's melody really suits it. It really does give me a sweet feeling.

Shouoto Aya: Newcomer for the Reverse Harem Genre

Hmm...her art is really good. And I mean REALLY good. I like the guys she draws. No wait...I love them XD

I was too bored at home with nothing to do, and I'm also waiting for the next chapters of Skip Beat and Vampire Knight, I just browsed through the mangas under that genre. And, unexpectedly, I came across a manga called Barajou no Kisu by Shouoto Aya. At first I was just giving it a try because of the boys *wink* but the plot turns out to be quite interesting. There is also another similar manga by the same mangaka called S.L.H: Stray Love Hearts. Strange name, I know. But that's how they are, I mean the Japanese. Sometimes even their songs have really illogical names. S.L.H is published much earlier than Barajou but the latter got more popular first *shrugs*.

She was originally focusing on shonen-ai and yaoi, then later yuri, and now reverse harem and shoujo. The only thing that bothers me about her style is her female characters, especially the heroines. GOD! They are tooo chibi and short compared to the tall and long male characters. When they stand together, it feels like an adult and a middle schooler.

Barajou no Kisu

Higa Kaede. At first, my only favourite was him. I thought he looked cute, and I still think he does. (Look at this picture!) But after this guy (point down) came around, I have two favorites now. Kaede had become my second favourite.

Mutsuki Kurama. *Sigh* Isn't he just awesome??? I wish I can draw like that T^T. At the first sight, I just thought he was not appealing enought, but I was so wrong. His personality is cute and to top it all off, he's a night stalker! A vampire! Well, sort of... XD And who would have guessed inside his cold and scary exterior that deep down, he's a masochist?! The very moment he showed that side of him, I've fallen head over heels for him *blush* *heartbeat racing* Lolx... I sounded like some kind of psycho that would fall in love with a fictional, imaginary guy instead of one in flesh and blood. How frustrating. Characters like this often made me want a guy that is like him, which is impossible. He would be too good for me T.T

Stray Love Hearts

Aww~ Come on! Basically all the boys in the manga are bishounen! Is it possible that all the guys could be so beautiful?? Well, not in reality anyway. No offense but usually nice guys not = good looking; good looking not = nice guys. So...ya. If I have to choose, seriously, I would prefer a nice guy.

I have three favourites for this manga. Ichikawa Ren (the one with short brown hair, reason for liking him: need I to say more? He's a Higa Kaede look-alike! Or is it the other way around? XD), Reizei Kuga (the one with long black hair, reason for liking: Mutsuki Kurama and Kaname look-alike LOLX), and lastly, Kumoide Cain *points down*.

Cain and Kozue Hiyoki (she does look like a hiyoko to me XD). See what I mean? Cain looks like a college freshman and she (the heroine) looks like a middle schooler. No, worst. She looks like she is still in elementary school! But anyway, the reason for liking him is because a) again, a Kurama look-alike b) he gives out the Zero-aura, if you know what I mean.

In the sense of the amount of bishies, SLH is the winner but for the plot, I like Barajou better. The plot seems to be more mysterious and interesting. But it is still too early for me to decide since only six chapters of Barajou are translated and only one chapter for SLH. I'll have to wait a little longer. All in all, Shouoto Aya has made it into my list of favourite mangakas ;D

Drawings for Blood Moon

Woohoo~ Haven't been blogging for awhile now. I have nothing better to at home but just sit or lie around, sleep for 12+ hours a day XD I did not do much during this one whole month of holiday. Sleep at 7/8 in the morning till 5 in the afternoon almost everyday. I used to be a "lark" (well, because of school, not because I wanted to) but now I have turned into a complete "owl". Today I've finally picked up my pencil and paper to draw (even though I said to myself I MUST draw everyday during this holiday) thanks to SuJu. Why? Because I have fallen in love with their song "Neorago (It's You)". After watching their music video, I was DYING to draw their outfits. Their outfits went well with their dance moves, which are absolutely charming and enchanting. I was not a SuJu fan but, GOD! Now I'm starting to like them more and more. They made me wished I could have a boyfriend that can dance like them (especially Eunhyuk. ZOMG! At first I thought he wasn't that good looking compared to GD *squeal* but then, after seeing him dance, HE IS SOOOO CHARMING!!) LOLX~

Okay, enough of the cool-guy fetish. The reason I'm writing this post is to post my drawing for my precious Blood Moon boys XD The first one is the unfinished version and the second one is, well, the finished version. Arggh~ The damn useless scanner! It made the colour came out weird. Totally ruined it!! It looked so good on the paper!! *pulling hair off my head* I want a new scanner!!!

From left: Damien Quinn, Jack Kennington, Leroy d'Evreux

Seriously, their skintone became so dark!!! It was supposed to be pale for Jack and Leroy! And Jack's hair was supposed to be seal brown, sort of a dark brown but it came out looking like black! But I am really satisfied with this design. I will be settling my character design on this one. Not going to change it again, I think. XD

P.S.: I know it's weird for a French to have black hair, BUT it really fits his character.

For the Blood Moon novel, go here >>> http://miharu388.blogspot.com/ It's my second blog.

잘가요 내사랑 (Jal Gayo Nae Sarang)

Ahhh~!! My new favourite! It's from 8eight's "The Golden Age" album. Ever since I listened to their "Without A Heart" (or "Empty Heart"), I have started to like this Korean group. They remind me of the old Black Eyed Peas (how could they have disbanded?! T.T) The song is called 잘가요 내사랑 (Jal Gayo Nae Sarang or Chal Gayo Nae Sarang), meaning "goodbye my love". A college friend sent it to me via messenger. I saw her MSN message with this song title in Korean and I thought it was "Without A Heart". And then, eventually she sent me the song. I saw the MV. Gosh~ That's the first music video ever to make me cried!! It starred Kim So Eun from Boys Before Flowers (she is so pretty! Kim Bum x So Eun foreva!! SoEul!!), Jung Gyu Woon and Jung Jin Woon from Korean boy band 2AM. A beautiful song and a sad MV.

The song is in my playlist and you can watch the video here:

The lyric is here (from http://qeagrumpygirl.wordpress.com/2009/06/13/8eight-goodbye-my-love-mp3-download-romanization-translation-lyric/):

Celebrating the end of finals~!!

After coming out from the exam hall, me and three of my friends went straight to Sunway Pyramid to celebrate! Haha. Well, actually the only person I know is Carmen, the others are her friends and I can't even remember their name *shhhh~* It's a tradition to go out after exam so I won't mind who I will be going with. Even if I have to go alone, I don't mind at all, as long as I get to go!

So, we hung around the mall for an hour or so and then we decided to have dinner at the Korean restaurant, Che Ga. When we were there, we had wasted more than 15 minutes trying to decide on what to eat! Haha. Everything on the menu looks good. Especially those barbeque meat and seafood sets. Yummy~ And they are darn expensive, too. The set that we ordered cost RM128 alone!! But the dishes were really nice! Especially the barbeque chicken and pancake! They are my favourite.

The girl in the picture (Sorry, I really can't remember her name XP) and I ordered ice-blended mocha with red beans (NOT the coffee-mocha. It's green tea). Carmen ordered ice-blended mocha+watermelon (See the glass at the farthest right?). These drinks are just weird. That's why we ordered them XD *teehee*

Ahh~ dahk galbi (Korean marinated barbeque chicken)~ (or is it what it's called?) with lettuce...Mmmm~

I like it so much! Although this was not the first time eating Korean barbeque (gogi gui), I was still so overwhelmed by the taste.

The rest of the RM128-set. Haha. We didn't really finish the banchan. There was a small plate of kimchi. I had a small bite and...God, I still can't get use to the taste. It wasn't spicy but it just tasted funny. The black pot is sam gae tang (chicken and ginseng soup) but, again, it tasted funny. It tasted like plain water with salt. It's not how we expected it to taste like.

And the winner is...Pajeon~! Gosh, this Korean pancake tasted even better than oh jian (Chinese pancake with oysters) There were bits of meat and prawns with veggie in it. It tasted even better with the dipping sauce that came with it. I love it! And now I missed it. T.T

This...Seriously, I don't know what it is called. I just called it Korean hot pot udon. I bet you can't see the udon. That's because the udon was deep at the bottom, being buried by the ingredients. Lolx~ Look at them. The amount of the ingredients is just crazy! There were veggies, mushrooms, beans, tofu and my favourite crab sticks (or krab or imitation crab meat. Call it whatever you like) It was part of the set, too.

The set was meant for 2-3 persons. There were four of us and we couldn't even finish it XD

I really want to have Korean cuisine again! The barbeque and pancake, especially. I'm really in love with it. Or maybe it's just my habit of falling in love with foreign countries' cuisine. Lol~

We had been in the restaurant for 2 hours! People that came at the same time as us had already left well earlier than us. We were just talking about a subject the whole time --- Carmen's dream guy. I have to admit that he looks kind of cute but...OMG~ I would never go to the extent of falling so deeply in love with him to the point of stalking him~! *ahem* She knows he's full name, which state he's from, what year and course he's in and she has his pictures in her phone. And she hasn't even talk to him yet!

Gosh~ She met him on the first day of the orientation and she is attracted to him since then. It seems like he is really popular in his course and on the campus. And on the internet, too! So I'm not gonna say his name out loud. The whole 2-hour conversation was about how-Carmen-should-bump-into-him-"accidentally" plans. It was crazy. Insane! XD And we suspected him to be either pure Korean or half (it was because of his name, not his looks. He doesn't looked like a Korean). And then all of a sudden, the topic changed to Korean. We started speaking in Korean. Lol~ It was fun. I know only a few simple phrases and sentences. One of the girls (the one in the first picture) actually understands the language. She can't write and can only read limited amount of words, but she can understand Korean drama without the help of dubbing and subtitles! She is a Malaysian but she moved to Brunei. She came back here for only one semester. Won't be seeing her next semester. =(

Love Alive

There is another song that I have fell in love with recently. It's Love Alive by Minji. It is a song from the Japanese movie "252 -生存者あり". It's also in my playlist XD *pointing at the playlist excitedly*

Obviously, the singer is not a Japanese. She's a Korean. By listening to her way of singing and looking at her name, you could tell that straight away. She doesn't have the japanese-style of siniging. They usually sing in Jay Chow style --- "eat the words" XD Japanese tend to skip some syllables when they're singing or talking due to their pace of speaking (It's damn fast DX)
Minji, however, sings the lyrics with clear syllables, word by word. It's not like I don't like it, though.

This is the link for her live performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNCuZaU9YDE

Noctis and Stella: Their Last Kiss

I was looking for a subbed version of the new clip of FFVersusXII which is the clip that shows the first meeting of the mega couple *squeals* (I have to say, Nokuto-kun is SO HOT in the video. This is the first time I called a guy hot, mind you XP) And then, after watching hundreds of useless fanmade videos of the couple *grrrr~*, I found one particular video from YouTube that I really like. Both the clip and the music. The song is called Last Kiss by Bonnie Pink. It is Gantz ending theme, FYI.

I have instantly fell in love with the song X3

This is the video I'm talking about. I've got the song in my playlist, too. *pointing down at the blog*

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAhtG6n3K2M&feature=related

Here are the lyrics:

akaku moeru kokoro kotoba ubaware SANSETTO

Drawing Day 2009

I was "wandering" around deviantART last night (late at night. Again XD) and came across a certain journal entry that almost made me gone crazy. I did not even know there is such an event as the Drawing Day! I found out about it around 3 hours before midnight. I literally tossed away everything on hand (including that 4 cm thick Stat textbook XD), grabbed my most trusted mechanical pencil and eraser, and start sketching on a piece of A4 paper. It was such a short notice. So, I decided to draw something simple and easy but impactive.

I called it "Red Tears". Her eyes and tear are red. But it can't be seen here as my lousy scanner did some colour adjustments to it OTL >.<
Her eyes have a less obvious red than they originally are and the drop of tear on her cheek became...black~ Damn it! Baka scanner~
It is simple so it only took me 2 hours to finish it (including inking and shading).
I don't know about other people, but she sort of reminds me of Hiou Shizuka from VK. Maybe it's because of her hair and kimono (and that sad look on her face)? Hehe... I didn't intend to make the girl look like her but she just accidentally turned out this way. *shrugs*

Latest work

I'm too lazy to update the photobucket slideshow XP

So, instead of going through so much trouble in posting the photos=> update the slideshow=> copy the code=> repost the slideshow, I'll just post my latest work of art here. If you're interested to view my other works, you could always visit my page at deviantART and MangaBullet.

chuiqi99 (deviantART): http://chuiqi99.deviantart.com/

This is the sketch I promised to give to my friend, but it's still not done. Still pondering whether to draw a garden background or a colour-splash one or one with shadings XDD
Ahhh~ I call this sketch The Black Couple XD
When I was drawing this, I kind of imagine the couple to be the top assassins in an underground organisation.
*Ahem* I tend to do that for every sketch...teehee~
Boys Before Flowers!!! My current favourite Korean drama XDD
I absolutely love the boys in the series. Much better than the taiwanese and japanese versions. My personal favourite would be Yoon Ji-Hoo (the one on the farthest right), in both real-life drama and the drawing because a) he's the cutest and most handsome in the group b) he's the easiest to draw and c) he's the only one that turned out looking good in the drawing T.T

Heaven with a Price

I have finally decided to use Copic markers as my primary art medium. Watercolour just isn't right for me. I am bad at controlling the colour and water capacity, which would pretty much ruin my work X(

I have found the heaven of manga art supplies at The Gardens! Yes. I'm talking about Art Friend. It has manga manuscripts and Copic markers!! You have no idea how I felt when I saw the whole rack of Copic markers. I felt like crying. Tears of happiness XD

However, nothing is without a price. This heaven of mine requires a price. A VERY HIGH price in fact. One Copic Marker cost about RM30. And I needed, like, 100 of them!! A 72-set cost about RM1150; 36-set is around RM610; even the smallest set, 12-set needs RM107!!! I'm going to go broke before I even get half of the number I need.

Conclusion: I'm going to have to start SAVING! No new clothes and accessories for at least half a year. T.T I have to save up money from my daily allowance, which is RM27 - RM30. I need to save up to two-third of it. It's not like I can spend more than RM10 at that lousy cafeteria in Monash *bleh*. So, it's going to be at least 4 months before I can lay my hands on my 72-set treasure. *crossing fingers*

The list of tools/supplies I need to buy:

1. Copic Sketch 72B set (The Ultimate Goal)
2. Manga manuscript/ Illustration pad/ A4 White cardstock
3. 0.3 mm mechanical pencil (Optional)
4. 003 Copic Multiliners
5. 005 Staedler Pigment Liners
6. White gel pen and ink
7. White acrylic paint
8. Copic colourless blender

= almost RM2000 *faints*

(And I'm doing this a week before my finals XP I'm SO dead~)

Vampyre, Vampire, Nosferatu~

Hmm, I just finished a vampire novel I borrowed from the library, read the latest chapter of VK and rewatched Bram Stoker's Dracula last night (late at night, in fact. Didn't go for bed until one hour before dawn XD)

A vampire-addict I am indeed...>.>

After reading and watching so many vampire-related materials, I found that my favourite would still and always be *dramatic music*....Vampire Knight!!! Haha...

The fact that the thirst for blood can only be slake with the blood of the loved one makes me love it even more. I find that to be very romantic XD

There are so many differences between those three (the novel, manga and movie). The Burning (the novel) concentrated on a myth of the vampire lore that I loathed the most --- the sex. I mean, c'mon!!! Why do Americans have to relate EVERYTHING with sex??!! Give me a break!! The author made vampires seem like they can't survive without sex. This reminded me of the HBO series True Blood (the same old sex, sex, sex *roll eyes*). The only thing that kept me from tossing the book aside was the author's writing style. Her vocabs are incredible!! And her knowledge of history is unbelievable. I always have a thing for books with difficult grammar and words (hehe...) All in all, the story did not impress me.

Bram Stoker's Dracula, although it's the origin of all vampire stories, did not make it into my list either. I know vampires are meant to be scary and monster-like but I kind of got brainwashed by VK and other modern vampire novels. I don't fancy vampires that could change into anything and everything. Anything horrific and ghastly to be exact. I mean, how can the girl kiss that horrible thing?!! I'm sorry. Didn't mean to offend anyone. But I just don't believe in this kind of love.

Speaking of vamp novels, Twilight came into my mind. Well, as I said, I don't mean to offend anybody, but the plot really...sucks. (I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.) Meyer's writing wasn't as impressive as the Burning's author, Squires, or anywhere near it. It was too, for lack of a suitable word --- simple. It felt like I was reading a 7th grader's book. And the plot...God, the plot. It was boring! I mean, initially I found it to be okay but as the story progressed, my interest on the book just vanished. I still like Edward but not Bella. She had come around to be a really annoying and helpless heroine --- the type that I despise. (My favourite type of heroine would 100% be a heroine like Kyoko from SB) I didn't even have the urge to start reading New Moon, for Pete's sake. And I usually finish the entire series of a book. How could ANYBODY say Twilight is the new Harry Potter??!!!! Harry Potter is an icon. A legend! Furthermore, the two books are completely different from each other. Magic and witchcraft against vampirism and romance. How can they be compared? Based on what? Popularity? Wake up people!! It is well nigh impossible for Twilight, or any other books, to surpass Harry Potter.*ahem* My apologies. I got carried away.

Conclusion: VK is the best!!! And Yuuki, please wake up from your confusion. You know you love Zero, not Kaname XD

Break-In !!!!

My beloved Billabong red+black wallet and mp3 player are gone!!! Gone~! Some stupid low-life asshole decided to steal for the RM70 in the wallet and the 3-year-old, less than RM300 mp3 player. Go to hell!

Everything that was being touched by the low-life, I decided to throw them away. Well, except for my homework+notes+bag.

We decided not to report to the police since they won't even bother to petrol around the area and it's ONLY my wallet and mp3 player. Everything else is just at where they are suppose to be. And who knows, they might just be part of the party (coffee money, if you know what I mean, my dear Malaysians.)

Luckily, my IC and phone are still here with me. If they're gone too, I'll probably find some black magic spells to curse him/her/them to die a torturous, painful and slow death. (What else can I do? I don't even know how the low-life looks like.)

Even so, my Red Box and Comic Paradise member cards are gone!! And my favourite mp3 player that I can't live without!! This is enough to make me snap. I really wish that low-life would have Li-Fraumeni syndrome --- die of eight deadlious cancers and die before 40. Hmpph~! I don't care if I sound unreasonable and harsh. Even if that LOW-LIFE has some problems that make him desperate enough to break into my house JUST for RM70, I won't forgive him/her/them or whatever, EVER!! Having issues like financial difficulties, unemployment, or need for drugs to curb/slake its thirst does not make it right to steal.

Die, you filthy low-life jackass! Die now!! Shi ne~!!!!
